Six Seniors Named National Commended Scholars
Six Bishop Watterson students have been named National Merit Commended Scholars based on their performances on the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
Grant Clark (St. Michael) is a Student Council representative, executive board officer, member of the spirit committee and Editor-in-Chief of the weekly News from the Nest student email. He is a Student Ambassador, member of the In The Know team, a member of the National Honor Society and has volunteered as a altar server and with the St. Michael parish festival. He plans to major in biochemistry/pre-med in college.
Alexander Das (St. Andrew School/St. Joan of Arc Parish) is Vice President of Student Council, a member of the charity committee and served as class president for three years. He is a Student Ambassador, captain of the boys soccer team, and a member of the National Honor Society and the boys lacrosse team. He has volunteered at BWHS Leadership Academy, as an under-7 assistant soccer coach, and at Mid-Ohio Food Collective, St. Joan of Arc food pantry, and Friendship Village of Dublin. He plans to major in mechanical engineering in college.
Anna Rose Gradisar (St. Andrew) is a Student Ambassador and head of the Student Council charity committee. She did a Public Service Scholars internship and participated in the Democracy Camp program with Ohio State’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs, took part in the Summer Immersion Program of Wake Forest University’s Policy and Politics Institute, and interned with State Rep Allison Russo. Anna Rose also plays piano and is a competitive dancer, volunteers at Mid-Ohio Food Collective and at the Homeless Families Foundation. She plans to major in political science/pre-law.
Claire Heise (St. Brigid) is the Drum Major in the BWHS Marching Band and a member of the Pit Orchestra and National Honor Society in addition to serving as a Student Ambassador. She volunteers with the BWHS Honor Band and is an accent coach for the BWHS Little Theatre productions. Claire plans to major in linguistics in college.
Erin Meury (St. Agatha) is a Student Ambassador and Student Council representative, serving as chair person of the student activities committee. She plays basketball for Bishop Watterson and is a member of the National Honor Society. Erin does volunteer work at Friendship Village of Dublin, St. Brendan, St. Agatha and with the BWHS girls basketball grade school camps and leagues. She plans to major in political science in college.
Nick Powell (St. Timothy/St. Joan of Arc) is captain of the varsity boys volleyball team and a Student Council Representative. He volunteers at Ganzhorn Suites Memory Care, as a middle school volleyball coach at St. Brendan and he does tutoring for AP Calculus and the SAT exam. Nick plans to major in biomedical science at Tulane University.
