Four Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists
Four Bishop Watterson students have been named National Merit Semifinalists based on their performances on the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
Norah Dorley (St. Brigid School and Parish) plays on the varsity basketball team, is a member of the National Honor Society and has served as a Kairos Retreat leader. She holds a part-time job and has volunteered for LifeCare Alliance, Senior Star Dublin Retirement Village, Ronald McDonald House and at St. Brigid. She plans to major in biomedical or biological engineering.
Marie Grassi (St. Francis of Assisi Parish/Trinity Catholic School) is a member of the cross country team and served as a captain of the ice hockey team. She is involved with Best Buddies Club and Latin Club and has volunteered at Pony Express, Equine Friends and St. Christopher Parish. She plans to major in biomedical engineering.
Molly Griffith (St. Agatha School and Parish) is captain of the varsity field hockey team, treasurer of the Concert Choir, co-president of the Paso-a-Paso Club and a member of the Foreign Policy Club. She is also a Student Ambassador and an intern at Welcoming City. Molly volunteers at St. Agatha and Run the Race Center and plans to major in political science.
Matthew Heidenreich (St. Mary School and Parish) is captain of the varsity football team and vice president of Student Council as well as a member of the Prayer, Made-for-More and Ski Clubs. He is also a Student Ambassador, a Kairos Retreat leader and member of the National Honor Society. Matthew volunteers at Stockhands Horses for Healing and is a member of the Teen Advisory Board at Whetstone Library.
