Bishop Watterson Athletic Association:
Bishop Watterson is hosting The Horrorball Halloween Tailgate Party on Saturday, October 30 when the Ohio State Buckeyes visit the Minnesota Golden Gophers. All alumni, friends and families of the Watterson community are welcome. The event will be held at Bishop Watterson High School. Big screen TV viewing, corn hole tournament, best costume contests plus lots more!! Come and cheer on the Buckeyes and enjoy your favorite tailgate foods and beverages. During the summer, each family will receive 10 Super Raffle tickets to sell to support the Athletic Association. Each ticket costs $20. There will be 117 opportunities for buyers to win, and each winning ticket is returned to the drum to become a possible multiple winner. Proceeds from the raffle are split evenly between the athletic association general fund and the individual teams on which your child plays.

Junior Hunter Maynard (17-5) wins the CCL heavyweight championship in the 285 pound weight division on February 13 during the league meet at Watterson. He won the sectionals and is headed to the districts on February 26-27 at Claymont!

Congratulations to Junior
Chris Diaz who is the Div. II Singles State Tennis Champion!
Diaz, a Div. I doubles tennis champion two years ago and a doubles runner-up in 2009, cruised through the Div. II singles tennis field without dropping a set in any of his four matches. On May 30th, Diaz defeated defending Div. II tennis singles champion Joey Fritz, a senior from Cincinnati Country Day, 6-3, 6-2 in the final. Diaz finished the season with a 31-0 record.

Boys and Girls Track
The boys track and field team tied Marion Pleasant and Utica with three points for 32nd in the Division II regional last Saturday at Lexington, behind champion Peninsula Woodbridge (65).
Only the top four placers in each regional event qualified for state, and none of the Eagles made the cut.
Joe Mankovecky placed sixth in the high jump (6 feet, 2 inches) and Alex Smith finished 13th in the shot put (46-7).
Eric Oman placed 10th in the 200 meters (23.02 seconds) and Matt Richardson finished 13th in the 1,600 (4:56.51).
The girls track and field squad tied Lancaster for 36th with one point in the Division I regional last Friday at Pickerington North, behind champion Reynoldsburg (95).
The Eagles' lone representative, Maria Swartz, finished eighth in the 1,600 (5:19.47).

All athletes must have a current physical in order to participate in a sport. Physical forms can be picked up in the athletic office or downloaded HERE.

Acoustical tile completed in the new gym!
The Athletic Association donates money to complete the acoustical tile in the new gym. The acoustical works by making the surface softer, which deadens the echo and reverberation that a hard surface would otherwise produce. The project was completed by January 1st.
