Bishop Watterson Sports Medicine

The Bishop Watterson sports medicine program is dedicated to providing prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and necessary referral of sports related injuries.

Athletic Injury

If your son/daughter has an athletic injury that need to be evaluated, the Head Athletic Trainer is available during the school day to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate student athletes during lunch periods, and after school.  Please set up an appointment by phone or email during the summer months.

Pre-participation Physicals

Pre-participation physicals will be held annually at Bishop Watterson (time TBA) for all returning freshman, sophomores, and juniors planning to participate in athletics next year.  All athletes must have a current physical in order to participate in a sport. Our team physicians and athletic training staff will be conducting the physicals free of charge.  Parents are asked to attend to help their son/daughter fill out history and sign the necessary forms.  If a parent is unable to attend, pre-participation physical forms can be picked up in the athletic office or downloaded from the Ohio High School Athletic Association homepage http://www.ohsaa.org/medicine/physicalform.htm.  If you have any questions please contact our Head Athletic Trainer Erick Boucher for further assistance.

Student Athletic Trainer Aids
Bishop Watterson offers a student athletic training aid program that lets students get involved in the field of Athletic Training.  The student aid program allows the students to aid and assist the Head Athletic Trainer in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.  Students working in the program have the opportunity to earn service hours or tuition assistance.  Most student work and average of 3-4 days during the school week from 3:30pm to 6:00pm (except football 2-a-days).  Students who are interested in becoming Student Athletic Trainer Aid can get involved by contacting Mr. Boucher by the following email or phone.
