Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Religious Education and Ministry Department link on the Bishop Watterson High School web site. We hope that this link will provide you with the opportunity to learn about our Theology Department, the wonderful faculty who teach within the department and the specific curriculum and ministerial programs that are offered at Bishop Watterson.
The philosophy of our theology classes is founded on the basic premise of the philosophy of all Catholic education: “To proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to all, to transform humankind into new life in Christ, to train individuals to live consciously faith-filled lives as children of God.” (National Directory for Catechesis)
The Theology classroom program shares with the entire school community the task to proclaim Christ’s message; to participate in efforts to develop community; to lead people to worship and prayer; and to motivate service. While it is the task of the entire school community, the theology classroom program plays a special role in this mission.
As you explore this web site, may you be enlightened by the different opportunities that make Bishop Watterson High School the unique Catholic Christian Community which strives to proclaim Jesus’ mandate to “…go and teach all nations … and know that I am with you until the end of time.” (Matthew 28: 18-20).
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Deacon Frank Iannarino
Director of Religious Education and Ministry
Chaplain
