Ten Named National Merit Finalists

Ten Bishop Watterson High School seniors have been named National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. They will now be considered for 2013 National Merit Scholarships.

More than 15,000 finalists will now be in the running for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships, the winners of which will be announced in April, May and July.

Bishop Watterson announced that these students were semifinalists in the fall of 2012.

Nicky DiCarlo, son of Thomas and Melissa DiCarlo, is a member of St. Joan of Arc parish and a graduate of St. Michael School.

Rachel Riendeau, daughter of Gerry and Liz Riendeau, is a member of St. Brendan parish and a graduate of St. Brendan School.

Mark Widerschein, son of Neil and Patricia Widerschein, is a member of St. Brigid of Kildare parish and a graduate of St. Brigid of Kildare School.

Caroline Nickerson, daughter of James and Julie Nickerson, is a member of St. Andrew parish and a graduate of Holy Trinity School in Charlotte, N.C.

Barry Robert Bryant, son of Barry and Sandra Savich Bryant, is a member of St. Andrew parish and a graduate of St. Andrew School.
